 Being promoted from Sergeant to Warrant Officer Class 2 while on operations was special. Having the Chief of the Army, General Leahy, come over to do it was even more special.

 At the Dining In Night I was charged at the Kangaroo Court with being out of uniform. How could I argue. I had just been accepted into the NSW Fire Brigades. Some bright spark had borrowed a coat and hat and, well, who am I to argue.
